The facade is entirely made of glass panels holds 2,400 motorized interior Venetian blinds (50mm slats). This allows occupants to take advantage of maximum light intake while reducing electricity consumption related to artificial lighting.

Electrically operated roller blinds fitted with Somfy LT50 motors were installed on the 2nd floor to provide glare and temperature control for occupants. animeo IB+ was installed with advanced functions allowing users to position blinds locally via RTS radio control units. To operate this system, animeo RTS cards were connected to the animeo motor controllers (MOCO).

Interior Venetian blinds are controlled by the Somfy animeo IB+ solution and connected to the GTB. With the integrated “Suntracking” feature: the slats are positioned according to the angle of sunlight to avoid glare without restricting natural daylight.   In each office, local control units were installed to allow users to manage their blinds independently.

This building includes two different towers, with a total combined surface of 117 000 square meters.

•  Tower B is occupied by Samsung Corporation employees. It counts 32 stories where 2714 blinds were equipped with Somfy motors.
• Tower C is Samsung Electric’s head office, a 43 story building where 5574 interior blinds were also equipped with Somfy motors.
  

In all, more than 8,000 ILT motors were installed, which allow users to set an end limit positions for blinds in each office or the entire building. 120 Sonesse silent motors were also installed in some offices and conference rooms.

Centralized control of the building is operated through the LONWORKS BUS network main computer. However, to ensure daily comfort, occupants can individually operate all the blinds in their office using a remote control.

This 31 floor 113 meter high-rise is named after the 21st borough of Vienna where it is located: Floridsdorf.
Somfy motorized the interior blinds in the tower using LW25 motors. Individual or group controls were installed in each office.

To reduce the greenhouse effect and provide occupants with continuous visual comfort, 555 interior Venetian blinds were equipped with Somfy motors. They are connected to a LonMark BUS network via LON interfaces for centralized controls of blinds, cooling and heating systems

Every room in this luxurious hotel, in the heart of Sao Paulo, was equipped with motorized interior blinds. The breathtaking view of Sao Paulo is limited to only a few hours per day, therefore through the comfort of motorization, the blinds rise as soon as the inconvenience of direct sunlight is no longer present.

Window openings and motorized horizontal blinds are managed through the animeo IB+ Premium system for 2 main objectives: energy savings and occupants comfort.

3000 interior blinds were equipped with Somfy motors. Occupants can now benefit from visual and thermal comfort and enjoy the ocean view without the inconvenience of direct sunlight.

The exterior facades of Il Sole 24 Oro newspaper’s new head office are equipped with 1100 color vertical blinds that greatly contribute to the building style. All the blinds were motorized by Somfy. Inside the building, occupants take advantage of maximum natural light without the inconveniences of direct sunlight. The motorized exterior blinds also play a role in the process of Dynamic Insulation™.

The Somfy animeo IB+ solution was installed to manage the blinds.

• All the Motor Controllers are equipped with RTS radio interfaces that allow occupants to operate the blinds with the touch of a remote control.
• A rather exceptional option for a multi-user building: more than 100 RTS radio remote controls are available in the building to provide greater comfort for teachers as they can easily position the blinds when necessary (excessive or direct sunlight).

• While the building is unoccupied, the centralized management system takes over and ensures the harmonious look of the facade (aligns blinds), reduces solar gain in the summer and also captures and retains heat in the winter. 

• To guarantee continuous protection of the end-products, wind / rain / climate sensors were installed. Connected to a DCF radio receiver, timer settings are always perfectly synchronized.

To offer greater visual comfort to travelers in Terminal 2, the Eastern facade was equipped with 309 motorized interior blinds. Sun sensors were installed outside the building and send commands to raise or lower several groups of blinds.

The colored facades of the newly built Maladière school blend-in perfectly with its green surroundings. Classrooms have large windows equipped with drop arm awnings that protect occupants against glare. All 102 drop-arm awnings are controlled through the animeo IB+ solution: 4 groups were created to simultaneously control the set of blinds that respond identically to sunlight conditions.

During its construction in 1992, all the roller shutters in this São Paulo hospital were motorized by Somfy.

The Capital Tower is a 253 meter and 52 floor high-rise located in the heart of Singapore. It is home to many offices and organizations. The all-glass facade is protected by interior blinds equipped with Somfy motors.

Louvers were motorized with Mingardi linear window-opener motors and are driven via the animeo IB+ Compact solution.

885 Venetian blinds installed as an access projecting surface onto the building’s inner skin were equipped with Somfy motors. They are driven via the animeo IB+ Premium system and respond to signals from sun, wind, rain and temperature sensors found on the roof.

• The position of the blinds is set according to the level and direction of sunlight, office occupancy and emergency fire alerts. Individual settings can be programmed from each office.
• The upper part of the blinds remains open to allow light to enter the building and reduce the need for artificial lighting. 

This project was built keeping 2 key factors in mind, maximum natural light intake and visual comfort for students. The architect chose to create an all-glass structure, covered by vertical and horizontal blinds equipped with Somfy motors.

Managing natural lighting was a key factor while renovating the Galleria Uffizi art gallery: introduce a high level of sunlight in each room, create a level of contrast that would bring forward the slightest details on the exposed master pieces.
This is why the architect chose to cover openings with motorized interior blinds between the glazing surfaces. The blinds fit perfectly into the wooden window frames, retaining the traditional look of the facade, inside and outside the building. Group controls per room allow the users to align the blinds and create an interior harmony.

90 motorized blinds are driven through local wired or radio technology controls where sun sensors send commands for the motor to raise or lower blinds. 

In late 2007, the building was extended and newly installed motorized blinds are also managed via animeo IB+ Premium.

Shanhai’s Pearl Tower was the highest building of Pudong until just a few years back. Since, it has been surpassed by many other towers and is not as impressive as it was in the past. The building does however still hold its original charm. Inside the tower, roller screens are equipped with Somfy motors. They are individually or group driven to provide visitors with a clear view without the discomfort of glare from direct sunlight.

All 178 interior blinds in the Singapore National Bookstore are equipped with Somfy ILT motors, connected to EIB BUS network through EIB interfaces. Using a central computer (BMS), the position of each motor, therefore blind, can be monitored at all times. Perfect alignment of the blinds guarantees an impeccable look to the facade.

To improve the occupants’ conditions, Somfy introduced centralized controls per classroom and a central control system within the building. To guarantee the protection of exterior awnings, 6 wind sensors were installed on the facades with stringent monitoring of winds to guarantee the safety of the equipment.

All the blinds installed at the Lidl regional office are managed through the animeo IB+ Premium system. It operates in 2 modes:

• comfort mode when occupants are present: occupants can control the blinds of their office, using a remote control or a wall switch.
• energy saving mode when the building is unoccupied: priority is given to energy savings, without taking into account the level of glare in the building. In sunny conditions for example, the blinds are down when it comes to limit excessive heating. They are up when the objective is to warm the interior of the building.

In the 12 floors of the Eczacibasi offices, animeo IB+ system is being used to control motorized roller blinds.
- All blinds are managed by the centralized system to guarantee energy performance and the visual esthetics of the façade (all blinds are realigned at selected times). 
- Blinds can also be independently controlled by the occupants for their comfort and to obtain ideal lightning.

Centralis RTS radio wall-mounted control units were installed in every apartment. Eolis RTS wind sensors were set in each loggia to automatically raise screens in case of strong winds.

112 blinds were equipped with Somfy motors and connected to individual or group controls. To protect the blinds from strong winds, wind sensors are conected to the motors and send commands to rise when necessary.

FTS Somfy motors are found in all 116 horizontal blinds that cover the exhibition area. They can be controlled individually or by group.

Somfy introduced a motorization solution for roller shutters with individual control systems. Comfort for the occupants and gentle operation of roller shutters that guarantees extended life… A key point for promoters and increased real-estate value.

Aluminum combined roller shutters were motorized with Somfy wired technology motors and individual controls. This solution includes the option of blocking the system using a contact key.
